Tonight (February 9th), we began our 26th annual WinterTales Storytelling Festival with a concert by Tom Paxton. Tom is originally from Oklahoma and is a world-famous folk song writer and singer. He has written such well-known favorites as "Bottle of Wine", "Marvelous Toy", "What Did you Learn in School Today?", "Last Thing on My Mind", and "Ramblin Boy". Listening to all these songs and many more was very nostalgic as I remembered growing up hearing Scott either play & sing these songs or play them on his records. Tom had written everything that he performed tonight and has had a long and prolific career. He was a contemporary of The Kingston Trio, Peter, Paul & Mary and the Mitchell Trio. After the concert he came into the lobby, greeted people and signed their CDs, sheet music and vinyl records.
