Look to the east as our anscetors did... OMMMMM

Now we praise you father sun ...awake

Now we praise you mother earth.....

I cant remember what the druid said after that, but Stonehenge on winter solstice 2006 was a unique experience for our whole family. Attached will be some pictures. Bronwyn sang with the priestesses. At first , one was giving here a dirty look but the others said "sing on sister" and we were in. Ulysses was given a Christmas present from the a wizard and we were all blessed by the druids. Doesnt hurt to hedge your bets LOL. Anyhow, we spent an hour hugging the stones and listening to the sounds and smelling the smells. They had these wierd icebowls that they would ring like you would a wine glass. It was very surreal and they had celtic horns that were similiar sounding to an australian digerydo. People were in a trance like state. I imagine they were normal everyday citzens albiet "Earthy Hippy types" during the day, but let them loose on stonehenge during solstice and they are in character. I couldnt help feel some tingly gooose bumps, and I knew that the druids there were just the desendents of Victorian enthusiasts gone awry. Nobody really knows what was done at stonehenge. Just be in with the stones puts them into context and that alone would have been enough. But all the other people their made for a communal exsperience. After Ulysses and Bronwyn crawed on touched and the stones we bid the druids and their entourage adieu. We moved on to Salisbury cathedral and viewed a 13th centry masterpiece. Heidi will write on that. Finally we ended the day on a mysterious Celtic burial mound called Figsbury Circle. What a great day.
